prolonogued bleeding due to fibroids
Just in case someone is going through what I am dealing with I thought I share my story. I have been dealing with fibroids for the past 15 years. Most of the time they did not bother me. In fact I knew I had them because of my yearly physicals. At the insistance of my doctor I had a uterine embolization done 2 year ago. According to the ultrasounds I had the fibroids did shrink. Well, I had a physical last February only to find out that I have 3 large fibroids!!!!!!!!! The doctor who performed the embolization assured me that due to the fact that I was 38 years old then, no fibroids would grow back and that is why I opted for the procedure rather than having a hysterectomy. Anyways the problem I have now is that I had a period that lasted 14 straight days then 17 without and now I have had a period for the past 22 days. I don't have any pain and the bleeding is not too heavy. My doctor suggested a hysterectomy. I don't want to have that surgery done. I went to the doctor on Thursday and she did a biopsy of the cervix. I am waiting to see what the results tell. If anyone has had the problems or symilar to mine please e-mail me. Thanks. Mirna
