I heard that we don't need our periods unless we are trying toget pregnant ( I Am Not). So instead of taking the placebo pills in our birth control packet, can we just go straight into another cycle, because this would eleviate our periods?

A couple of my friends have done it and I want to try it but I'm afraid that there may be some ramifications.

According to the prescribing information included in Seasonique, the new name of Seasonale,

"Safety and efficacy of SeasoniqueTM tablets have been established in women of reproductive age. Safety and efficacy are expected to be the same in postpubertal adolescents under the age of 16 and users 16 and older. Use of SeasoniqueTM before menarche is not indicated."

Sometimes, your doctor may prescribe birth control pills like this for other reasons, like to lighten heavy periods, to decrease the effects of endometriosis, or to help clear acne. Either way, talk to your doctor before getting a prescription.
