I am sorry that you went through so much. What kind of ablation did you have done?

If you have not already had it done, I would not do it. I had one in March, 2005, and after a month of bleeding I was still in pain. By the end of May I was in so much pain I had to take massive doses of ibuprofen and vicoden, which was not working. I went to see the doctor, who misdiagnosed my pain to be an ovarian cyst, but his partner did an ultrasound when my doctor was out of town. My uterus was very enlarged and full of fluid that for some reason could not escape. The pain was horrible, even worse than childbirth. It took them two weeks to get me in for a D&C. When they did the D&C, the doctor said there was a half gallon of blood and clots they removed from my uterus. I felt better for four days, and then it started to block up again. Eight days after I had the D&C I was in the emergency room, screaming in pain. I felt something rupture and an enormous amount of blood and clots exploded from me. The emergency room doctor prescribed an IV pain reliever. I spent the entire day there, they ran tests, just to tell me I need to have a hysterectomy. I don't recommend the ablation. My doctor has confirmed that a hysterectomy is the only thing that will stop my constant bleeding, and I could wind up in the emergency room every few days until it is done. If I had know what the risks are, I would not have done it. Genie
